We pray for the quick release of these and all other innocent Muslims who have been unjustly imprisoned. Insha-Allah (God willing) this will be a cleansing for their sins and raising of their ranks in Paradise. This is a trial for them and for us by Allah to test who will be steadfast on the religion of truth. We must be aware that if we don’t help them today we may be in their position later. May Allah protect all of us from this fitnah (trial / tribulation).
BRIEF OVERVIEW OF THE CASE

A few friends used to go on casual camping trips but in 2005, 2 undercover FBI informants made there way through as helpful Muslim friends. One of the informants brought guns into the group for target practice. During the trip the informants recorded conversations on jihad that they inititated and also took pictures of students holding the guns. In November 2006, the accused found out that they were not even allowed to hold guns on their student visa according to a rarely known law which was recently enacted. They never carried the fire arms in any public place but only had access over the weekend trip.
Shiraz Qazi went on the trip only once and is charged with one count of weapons violation. Syed Maaz Shah went 2 times on the camping trip and charged on 2 counts. Adnan Mirza is charged on 3 counts plus ‘conspiracy to defraud the United States’. Kobie Williams plead guilty in exchange of a lowered sentence of ~5 years instead of the ~35 years that he could have faced if he were found guilty in court. FBI put a lot of pressure on him and Adnan as well.

If you all still have an ounce of self-respect and dignity, you shall stand up for the rights of your poor people who were targeted.
your silence is deafening. SHAME ON YOU ! If these kids were Jewish, the whole community would be in an uproar.
This article reveals a lot about how easily people can accept cold-blooded killing if the killer is on “our side”.
There is nothing greater than Allah (swt). Allah (swt) is just and will never allow injustice to go by in passing even if that injustice seemed so very minor. And that is a promise from Allah (swt).
We must show our support to these brothers not only because they were coerced into something by a very evil person…but that person was loved by them and they gave their trust as brothers.. Make no mistake that this is all fabrications to gain monetary rewards and esteem in the eyes of the kufar.
Please write to them, send them words of encouragement and words of remembrance from Allah (swt). This life is a test and it is filled with delusions…and the more we are absorbed with this dunya, the more deluded we will become.
Make no mistake that the informer did not need an agent to provide weaponry to make this hoax seem real. Evil does not need company… it performs on its own.
May Allah (swt) give us all the clarity of heart to see truth as truth and follow it and falsehood as falsehood and avoid it. Ameen.
Respected Readers- This is indeed a great trial from the Lord for the families of the victims. God Willing, they are being rewarded for their patience. There is no barrier between the prayers of the opressed and God. Justice will prevail, if not in this life, then definitely in the Next.
Try doing a search on Google for ‘entrapment terror‘ and Subhan Allah you’ll be amazed and shocked to learn about cases of Muslim brothers and sisters who have been going through these ‘exact’ scenarios and even much severe trials throughout this country for the past 5-6 years. All those stories had a very common theme yet we never learned or may be were to busy enjoying our lives here that we did not care to learn about them. It is unfortunate that we are not like ‘one body’ any more. Insha Allah, this will help us to come together and support each other and most important to let people in other communities be aware of these inidents so that no one else falls under such traps.
Now that we have griped on how and where and when …what I would like to know is what are we doing to stop these folks….both of them are still roaming around playing the fields and enjoying their freedom. WHYISLAM is still allowing the key informer to promote himself on their forum…WHY IS THAT?
Greed and prower are enemies to all people. These people are now on to other communities doing this very evil acts. Are these organizations listed here doing anything to prevent an onslaught of innocent Muslims becoming entrapped because the goal is to show the world we are giving a heavy hand on terrorism?
When will the hiding end and allowing others to be bullies to us. Standing up make us men amongst men…laying down makes us slime.
CALL 1-877-WHY-ISLAM and ask to stop the “JIM Coates” (BrJimC) AND “MALIK, THE AFRICAN” forums- they are misleading all the converts. DOES ANYONE HAVE THEIR PICTURES TO CIRCULATE? The “War on Terror” is fake. Wake up. Fear is the most powerful tool in the tyrants arsenal.
Was it a terror sting or entrapment in HOUSTON / TORONTO / LONDON ? Did the FBI uncover a terrorist plot in Houston and Miami, or did they egg on a mentally unstable young man using compensated informants? Narseal Batiste was talking about taking on the government with bows and arrows. The FBI introduced him to a known felon, provided him with funds, equipment, and even suggested targets to create the crime.
That has got to be the lamest “terrorist” group I ever heard of. It is becoming clearer by the day that Al Quaeda is a paper tiger invented by the govt. If this organization truly had 1/10th of the resources the government claims, they could have easily smuggled in some stinger missiles or bombs across our porous borders and blown up some airplanes or other buildings by now. Instead, all we hear about are these arrests of “terrorist” wanna bees in UK and USA that have to be coached by FBI/CIA/M5 handlers for months before there is enough “evidence” to arrest them for “terrorism”. What a farce!
There was a really nicely done mini-series/tv show called “Sleeper Cell” that basically is similar to this. Basically in the show an FBI agent (who happens to be a devout Muslim) joins and infiltrates a terrorist cell and he basically leaks out information to his FBI colleagues, as well tries to set up the group to do various things so that they can be caught and acquire more intel.
The show is similar, and pretty well done (covers all angles, and is quite respectful in its execution). In my opinion, it looks like the FBI sorta crossed their boundary by telling them what building to attack, I mean it’s one thing to infiltrate and get information – but it’s entirely another thing to plan out an attack, and to waste tax money on funding this pointless crap. These guys were probably just crazy, I mean bows & arrows are no match for police officers who are armed with guns, while they’re restringing their bows – a bullet can easily disable them.
And I forgot the funniest: many of them learned to fly in a flight school owned by a known CIA asset, who used his planes to ship drug (for the CIA?). Watch “Mohamed Atta and the Venice Flying Circus” to know more.
Also, FBI whistleblower Sibel Edmonds said in interviews that many documents related to 9/11 she translated while at the FBI showed that 9/11 and the drug traffic were linked (Afghanistan and heroin anyone? Tens of thousands of British and US soldiers were massed around Afghanistan before 9/11, and Bush was examining the plan to invade 2 days before 9/11). The CIA and Wall Street wanted the money from the heroin production that the Taliban were stopping.

Ma sha Allah, the Muslims who are upon the guidance from Allah azza wajall will never be divided- Insha Allah! We truly do constitute ONE body. The detainment of these innocent brothers is a great sadness for us, however, we put our trust in the One whom controls our affairs. Had it not been for His mercy upon us we would indeed be ruined. As’salaam O Alaikum I am thankful to all my brothers and sisters for being their in our difficult times. I don’t have words to express my feelings but i am sure that Allah will bestow His Blessing and Mercy on all Ameen. I believe that if good times don’t last nor will the bad ones.

Asllam O Alikaum, to all my brothers and sisters, one of the vicitims of this tragedy happens to be my friends brother. I am deeply aggreived by the incidence but Iam sure that Allah (SWT) will reward our brothers in this life or the next (Insah Allah) as Allah says in Quran, the message of the Ayat is that Allah, in this life, will surely test those who claim to believe in Allah in order to be entered in Paradise. I hope and pray to Allah taht these muslim brother show steadfastness in the difficult test put for them.
I pray that Allah give strenght to thier families to endure this test of Emaan and reward these accordingly, and guide those who are blind and if guidance is not thier destiny then punish them for thier act.

Please do not forget our brothers that are in solitary confinement and probably suffering from the many mind games these org. can put on others. Please keep them close in your dua’s. Whisper a kind dua’ to Allah (swt) for their hearts to stay firly with yaqeen and with ridaa’. This man that put them in this state is obviously looking at the world through a broken mirror…very distorted. For him to preach to the world about his fight for Allah (swt) and Islam; defending it no matter what and outright entrap innocent people, I mean fabricate stories, put words in their mouths, use them. Assalamu Alaikum, As you may have noticed we have removed the posts about Jim Coates as it was going too far and that is not the purpose of this blog. Jim was recruited by the FBI and he buckled under their pressure. We do not know how much pressure and how much he did it for. We don’t need to focus on his personality as he was just a tool used by the FBI… if he wouldn’t have done it then they would have recruited someone else. What Jim did was totally wrong and he will have to answer to Allah about it and be held liable for the sufferings that it has caused everyone involved. It is up to Allah to either punish him or have mercy on him… that is not our business.
Now a days there are a lot of weak Muslims who will not be able withstand their pressure and the carrots that they dangle. May Allah strength our Iman and not put in such a situation which we can’t bear. Ameen.
As regards to Muslim organizations not openly supporting cases like these is that they do not want to associated with supporting ‘terrorism’. This would make them ‘guilty by association’ in the media and by the government. Even though the men have been wrongly accused and entrapped by the government this won’t be visible until the case is over. The government has all the tools at their disposal and can accuse anyone as they like. Hopefully the justice system will be able to declare their innocence. Insha-Allah.
There is a hearing in Adnan’s case tomorrow (Friday April 27th) at 11 am. This is going to be similar to the previous one and they will just go over the charges.

The prosecutors had requested more time in order to respond to the motion filed by Adnan’s attorneys. I will post the copy of the motion once I get it, Insha Allah.
Nothing else was discussed regarding the case. The next hearing in Adnan’s case will be on July 27th, 2007 @ 11 am where the prosecutors will submit their response to the motion filed by the defense. The jury trial will begin on October 29th, 2007.
Maaz’s next hearing is rescheduled for May 21st.
Shiraz’s sentencing is scheduled for this coming Thursday May 17th, 2007 @ 8:30 am.
Also, Maaz’s court hearing is so far scheduled for Monday May 21st, 2007. (I will post the exact time when I find out)

Maaz’s trial has started today (May 21st). It will continue tomorrow (May 22nd)at 9:00 am

Today they picked the jury and the trial began. The prosecutors narrated the whole story to the jury, which was very similar to the one posted by me earlier. Malik Mohamed (not a Muslim, an undercover agent working for the FBI) testified as did some other agents.
I would encourage all to attend the remaining trial.
The trial continued today (May 22nd). Most of the day was spent with Malik going through the evidence and explaining the context to the jury.
Maaz’s status was clarified that he was here in the country legally by the ICE agent.
The trial will continue tomorrow (May 23rd) at 9:00am.
Unfortunately the jury of 12 didn’t accept the entrapment defense on the forth day of the trial. Although the defense attorney did a good job on his part, he was outnumbered and overpowered against the government. The prosecutors had 4 persons most of the time at their desk while Maaz only had his attorney to do everything. And consider that the government has all the resources at its disposal (case probably cost them in the millions) while Maaz’s family had to dish out $75,000 from their own for the defense!
Most people only see whatever is shown on TV and some read the newspaper. Both don’t show even a minute part of the picture and are in most part usually biased against Muslims. Consider that the trial lasted 4 days and the news article is only half a page and only has about 4-5 lines about what was actually said. You need to hear both sides of the story before making an informed decision… not just from watching what is on TV or in the newspaper.
What they all did by going to such camps was wrong and they shouldn’t have done so and taken the government’s bait. Their elders and relatives warned them against this but being in youthful spirit and zeal, they overlooked their advice.
May Allah guide them and keep them steadfast in Islam in the face of these trials.
Does anyone think these folks will listen to the truth! These trials are not about finding truth…its about saving face now.
May Allah (swt) help us all.
Houston Chronicle on 9/14/07: Shah given 6 1/2 years in prison
Unfortunately the judge gave Maaz Shah 6 1/2 year prison sentence on 9/14/07. The US govt prosecutors requested 10 years while defense requested maximum should be 2 years. They will appeal and hopefully the sentence will be reduced considerably. You can read the details in the Houston Chronicle article at chron.com.
This is a great trial for the family of Maaz Shah. May Allah make this difficult time easy and give them patience to endure this hardship. Verily their reward is in the hereafter. Insha-Allah.

I came across this article and to my amazement, i rejoice that others see reality for real. I am a relative of the liberty city 7 in Miami Florida and my accused relative was indeed set up by a phony well paid informant. This does not only affect Muslims, but affects all poor Americans that are vulnerable to foolishness with guys who are hungry for money and will sell out their mother, brother, sister or whomever for the almighty dollar. Fear in America is just a lie to keep the citizens in terror to justify ill wrong of big legal officials as citizens are rights are in violations. We are being spied on thru wire taped telephone, friends,and bank accounts, & the internet. We are all being violated right now as i speak. And as for the liberty city 7 they are innocent victims of the legal system while we may pray we still need an important voice to represent the families of these people and to put a stop to the madness.
Its just that we have forgotten about hereafter frankly if we want to bring such things in front of people we don’t get enough support or any sort of encouragement either.. being a brother of one of the accused people i am trying my level best to bring the truth in front of people while sitting back home visa are not issued to us my mom has been rejected thrice already… i also approched and emailed couple of renowned television program but they never bothered to even look into to it or give any sort of response. Other 2 are also my family and definitely have feelings and sympathy for them but can’t do much about it just see what the lawyer did he also withdrew from the case saying i was not provided the finance on time though we paid him almost half of the amount he demanded for the whole case, yet there is no progress and in result of so called delay he backed off for no good or genuine reason. This is how it is and there is no details provided regarding the amount given to him seems like its just gone for his luxury…. This the time to take legal action regarding such lawyers who betray people and just work for money… I need your support in initiating over such issue thanks regards and keep praying
Unfortunately there is nothing surprising about any of this. The FBI has a long history of targeting groups and trying to incite them to violence by inserting agent provocateurs. As Judi Bari once said, you can always tell who the FBI informant is – he’s the guy who can get the dynamite. The point is not to punish people – since no one has actually done anything wrong yet – it’s to make an example of someone to scare off anyone else who might be contemplating committing a violent crime like this. You can research the counterintellgence programs of the 1950s-1970s (abbreviated cointelpro) and you’ll see there is nothing new here. The only thing new is that Muslims are the new targets.
